הערות | In this paper we have tried to collect a description of the current situation and future trends of fruit growing in Spain, an area which is currently in a period of profound renewal, seeking higher returns. The book is organized into 16 chapters, which contain a total of 27 fruit species, starting with the temperate zone crops, continuing with typically Mediterranean, and ending with the tropical and subtropical crops. The selection includes both consolidated in our country, and emerging species in the near future appear as a solid alternative in certain enclaves of Spain fruit. For the preparation of the chapters we wanted to have the best specialists in each of Spain crops. Included in each chapter a description of the current status of the plantations, with an analysis of market requirements, the study of the main patterns and varieties, the description of production systems and farming techniques that allow greater benefits and a cost benefit analysis. All chapters end with a free reflection on the prospects and challenges facing different fruit in Spain and in the European market. |
